Shara Bey was a Human female pilot who had served in the Rebellion during the Galactic-Civil War as an lieutenant. Bey was a decorated RZ-1 A-Wing pilot and a veteran of multiple battles, Bey flew with Green Squadron in the assault against the Death Star II during the Battle of Endor. Though Bey had hoped Endor would mark the end of the conflict Shara would continue serving as a Rebel-Pilot during many engagements that followed the Death Star Station's destruction. Shara and her husband Kes Dameron, had a child Poe, who they rarely saw during this war which they joined because they believed this galaxy was suffering under the rule of the Empire. Shara took part in an defense of Naboo when it became a target of Imperials, flying with Leia Organa and Queen Sosha Soruna.                                       

Three months following the Naboo conflict, Shara Bey would assist Rebel Commander and Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker in retrieving two fragments of an Great Tree from an Coruscant Jedi-Temple from Imperials on Vetine. Shortly thereafter Bey retired from Alliance-service and settled with her family at an colony on Yavin 4, where Bey continued to fly her A-Wing as part of Yavin 4 civilian defense and where she planted a tree fragment given to her by Skywalker, outside her family home.
