A member of the Jedi Order with a sarcastic sense of humor and a reputation for not playing by the rules, Quinlan Vos was an expert tracker renowned for his ability to read memories from objects people handled. The Jedi Council sent him on a mission to assassinate Count Dooku, during which Vos fell in love with the assassin Asajj Ventress and was forced to learn the ways of the dark side of the Force.
Biography
Early Life
Quinlan Vos was born on the planet Kiffu the homeworld of the Kiffar, a near Human species noted for their innate talent for psychometricy and distinctive facial tattoos denoting clan affiliation. As a member of the Vos Clan on his homeworld, Quinlan was reluctantly allowed to abandon his family's strong tradition as law enforcers on Kiffu to become a Jedi.
Becoming a Jedi Knight
As a youngling Quinlan would meet several other initiates destined for glory in the Jedi Order like Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two would later become good friends after ascending to the rank of padawan with Vos training under Jedi Master Tholme and Kenobi with Qui-Gon Jinn. Quinlan would in time become a Jedi Knight who was known for his impulsive behavior and exceptional talent with the Force. Some years after attaining Knight status Vos took on a young Twi'lek who he had met and saved from a group of slavers on Ryloth years before as his padawan learner. This Twi'lek girl, Aayla Secura, would become a respected Jedi who served with distinction in the Clone Wars.
Hunt for Ziro
During the Clone Wars, Vos teamed with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to track Ziro, a Hutt crime lord who escaped from prison on Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Republic. Vos deduced that Ziro had been freed by bounty hunter Cad Bane, which led Vos and Kenobi onto the trail of Ziro and the bounty hunter. Their mission took them to Nal Hutta, the Hutt homeworld, and eventually to Teth, where they discovered that Ziro had been killed. Although Bane, also on Teth, did not kill Ziro—the crime was committed by Ziro's former lover, Sy Snootles—the two Jedi attempted but failed to arrest him due to his criminal record.
Partnership with Ventress
Later in the war, Vos was partnered with Asajj Ventress, a former dark side assassin, to assassinate the Sith Lord Count Dooku, the brutal leader of the Separatists. The duo was unsuccessful in their attempt. Vos succumbed to the dark side in an attempt to uncover the identity of Dooku's master, Darth Sidious. However, he was brought back to the light side through his love for Ventress. During the war's final days, Vos commanded Grand Army of the Republic forces on Boz Pity.
Powers and Abilities
The Force: Vos was renowned for his psychometry, the ability to sense the memories of other beings by touching objects that they had come into contact with. This allowed the maverick Jedi Knight to become an expert tracker, which he utilized by taking on missions that delved into the galaxy's criminal underworld.[1] His dealings with criminals gave him an understanding of how the underworld operated, which helped him to deduce the true nature of Ziro's escape from Republic imprisonment and how the Hutt Council factored into the situation. During the hunt for Ziro, he displayed a prowess with a lightsaber, teaming with Kenobi to take on the infamous bounty hunter Cad Bane.
