Luminara Unduli was a Mirialan female Jedi Master during the final days of the Jedi Order. She was a valued adviser to the Jedi Council, the Chancellor, and the Galactic Senate. She commanded the 41st Elite Corps of the Grand Army of the Republic as a General, and was the master of Barriss Offee, whom she fought with in numerous battles of the Clone Wars before Offee turned against the Jedi Order. Nearing the end of the war, Unduli fought in the Battle on Kashyyyk. She was killed along with many other Jedi as part of Order 66, put into place by Sheev Palpatine to destroy the Order. After her death, the Galactic Empire would later use her bones as part of a trap to lure surviving Jedi to their deaths, but two Jedi who were able to escape spread the word to dispell the ruse.
Biography
Jedi Master of the Order
Before the Clone Wars
Luminara Unduli was born on Mirial, and in her youth she was found to have a connection to the Force. After she was discovered, Unduli was taken into the Jedi Order, to the temple on Coruscant, where she was given training in the ways of the Force, honing her skill with a green-bladed Lightsaber and grew strong in the Force. She wore makeup and dressed in traditional Mirialan robes, and was skilled in diplomacy and a respected adviser to high profile Senators in the Senate. Eventually, she became a Jedi Master prior to the Invasion of Naboo. When the time came to select a Jedi Padawan, Unduli chose Barriss Offee as an apprentice, continuing the tradition of Mirialans teaching Mirialans.
Dawn of the Clone Wars
Following an assassination attempt on Naboo Senator Padmé Amidala, she attended a meeting between the Jedi Council and Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine about the possibility of war between the Republic and the Separatists under Count Dooku. When it became apparent that a full-fledged military conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance would occur, Obi-Wan Kenobi was captured by the Confederacy on Geonosis, and Unduli and her Padawan joined Master Mace Windu's quickly launched rescue mission. Housed within the packed arena were Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Senator Padmé Amidala, who were to be tried and executed by the Confederacy leaders assembled on the world. As over two hundred Jedi crept into the arena, they ignited their lightsabers in challenge to Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy, who was personally overseeing the planned execution. A heated but short battle followed; over half of the assembled Jedi Knights fell in battle before the arrival of Grand Master Yoda, accompanied by the newly-created Grand Army of the Republic in several gunships. By this time, Master Unduli and several other survivors had made their way to the center of the circle and were easily able to board a gunship out of the arena.
Conflicts in the Clone Wars
Early into the war, Luminara joined with Ahsoka Tano, along with a number of Senate Commandos under Captain Faro Argyus, aboard the Tranquility. It was used to transport Nute Gunray from Rodia to Coruscant so he could have a trial for his war crimes. Knowing of Gunray's importance to the Separatists, Dooku dispatched his assassin, Asajj Ventress, to rescue him. The two Jedi interrogated the Viceroy, but got nowhere because he refused to answer their questions. Tano got angry and threatened the Neimoidian, but was stopped by Luminara, who chastised Ahsoka. Unfortunately, a swarm of Vulture Droids escorting three Separatist boarding ships attack the Tranquility. Super battle droids assaulted the cruiser to hold off the clones, allowing Ventress to slip inside undetected. Commander Gree, a squad of Green Company, and Luminara went off to deal with the droids, leaving Ahsoka to guard Gunray. While the others were distracted, Ventress set and detonated some charges, rocking the ship, before fleeing down the elevator shaft. Luminara went after Ventress, confident that she could defeat the assassin, leaving Ahsoka again.
In the generator room, Ventress and Luminara dueled and Luminara was swiftly outmatched by Ventress, who was outraged at Luminara's taunts. She claimed that Ventress' fighting style was a sloppy and amateurish; an imitation of Dooku's. She overpowered Luminara and traped her under a number of collapsed pipes. Just before attempting to kill her, Ahsoka arrived and saved her, causing Ventress to flee. They raced back to the brig, only to find that Argyus had betrayed the clones and helped rescue the Viceroy. The two Jedi reported to Yoda and Anakin Skywalker about their loss. Luminara was later sent to Geonosis to help Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Obi-Wan Kenobi destroy Poggle the Lesser's new droid foundry there. Along with her Padawan, Barriss Offee, she joined Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano in the storming of the droid factory. While she and Skywalker acted as diversions, the Padawans Offee and Tano made their way through the vast underground catacombs to destroy the factory, not before Ahsoka contacted them explaining that they wouldn't be able to make it shortly before destroying the generator. After learning that the two Padawans were still alive stuck under a the rubble, Unduli and Skywalker used the force to lift the rubble.
Following this, Unduli went in search of Poggle the Lesser, who had retreated into the catacombs of an ancient temple. While she and a trooper searched the temple, a sandstorm prohibited reinforcements from reaching their positions. While communicating with Masters Kenobi and Mundi via hologram, Unduli's trooper was killed by the undead hordes of the mysterious Hive Queen Karina the Great. Having been knocked unconscious and caught, the Jedi Master was taken before Karina. Jedi Kenobi and Skywalker came to her rescue; they were not far off when Luminara regained consciousness and wrestled her way out of the zombies' reach. Realizing what they were up against, she contacted Kenobi to warn him not to come after her, but was cut off as the zombies overwhelmed her. The Jedi disregarded her warnings and continued their search until they came upon Karina's abode, where they found Luminara in an energy trap for her to be infested with brain worms. With Kenobi and Commander Cody delaying the zombies and the Queen, Skywalker freed Unduli and the two captured Poggle. Cody and his troops shot down the cave support, burying the Queen and taking Poggle prisoner.
Death and Usage of a Corpse
By the end of the war, Unduli served alongside Yoda, Republic forces, and Wookiee warriors during a battle on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. During the battle, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine issued Order 66, a command ordering all clone troopers to kill their Jedi commanders. Unduli evaded the fate that many of her fellow Jedi had, though for years it was believed she had been shot down by her troops on Kashyyyk. In actuality, Unduli had been taken into custody by the Empire. The Jedi were destroyed, and Palpatine declared himself Emperor and transformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire. After a short time in the prison known as the Spire on Stygeon Prime, she was executed in her cell in the presence of the Grand Inquisitor, who then held her remains for future purposes for the Empire. After her death, rumors began to spread that Unduli had survived the Clone Wars and was still alive, with those rumors existing as late as fourteen years after the war ended. In reality, the Empire used Unduli's remains to lure Jedi survivors into traps so they could be killed. One such trap was laid by the Inquisitor fourteen years after the war, with Unduli's remains still held in the Spire. Jedi who managed to survive the trap, spread the truth about her death.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
The Force: Trained as a Guardian, Luminara Unduli possessed power that very few Jedi were able to overcome. Though Unduli focused mainly on her dueling skills, she was by no means lacking in strength with the Force. She was a master of using the Force to augment her bodies physical capabilities; being able to perform impressive acrobatics, leap huge heights and distances and run with incredible agility. Unduli's danger sense was also quite powerful, as she demonstrated aboard the Tranquility. During her duel with Ventress, Luminara demonstrated skill with telekinesis, using the Force to hurl debris at her enemy often. Indeed, Unduli's control of the Force pushability proved the equal of Ventress' as neither was able to overpower the other while simultaneously using the power. In addition, she was known to strike an opponent with the blunt pommel of her Lightsaber. Unfortunately, despite her undoubted skill and abilities, she was unable to escape the execution of Order 66 and was murdered by Commander Faie before she could defend herself.
Abilities
Lightsaber Skills: She had amazing Lightsaber skills, as she was a master of Form III and had some skill in Form V, both of which were very difficult to breach. Not only were her Lightsaber skills superb, but she had also trained herself to become so incredibly flexible that she could easily twist to evade almost any attack that she did not block with her green Lightsaber. These skills were often flawlessly used in tandem with her apprentice, Offee, who had long studied at her side. Master Unduli proved capable of holding her own in a duel against famed Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, even with impaired eyesight; an impressive feat, considering Ventress was known for defeating and killing several uninjured Jedi. Unduli also proved to be a very skilled unarmed combatant as she defended herself against the undead Geonosians. When she lost her saber, she punched, kicked, and impaled them, all while handcuffed. She was also skilled enough to recognize Form II when it was applied against her by Ventress. Unduli was also familiar with Dun Moch, shown when she taunted Ventress by insulting her version of Makashi as lacking refinement, though this nearly resulted in her death when an enraged Ventress attacked her.

Luminara's Lightsaber: This Lightsaber was the weapon carried by Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. Trained as a Jedi, Unduli's weapon produced a green blade when ignited. Like other Padawan learners in the Jedi Order, she made her Lightsaber based off of records from the Jedi Archives. Unduli wielded her green-bladed weapon before and during the Clone Wars.The Lightsaber would see action against the acolyte Asajj Ventress, and she was soon backed up by Tano, who helped to fend off Ventress, but the latter escaped and freed the Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. She later wielded it during the Second Battle of Geonosis, during which she tracked Separatist leader Poggle the Lesser to an ancient temple. Unduli continued to brandish her green Lightsaber in combat, in battles on such as the Battle of Kashyyyk. On Kashyyyk, Unduli fought with the Wookiee population in defending their home.
