Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Cerean Jedi Master who sat on the Jedi Council during the last years in the old Republic. A humanoid being, this Cerean Jedi-Master's most distinguishing physical feature was the enlarged conical-cranium that'd contained an binary brain. By the time of the Clone Wars, Mundi became a Jedi General of the Republic Grand-Army, and like other Jedi he led their Clone troopers against the Confederacy forces in several conflicts throughout the war. Notable battles that Jedi Mundi took part in were both Geonosis-Battles and the Outer Rim Sieges. In the third and final year of this war, Mundi then oversaw an invasion at Mygeeto with Galactic Marines under Mundi's command. During their campaign, Chancellor Sheev Palpatine instructed the Grand Army soldiers to execute their Jedi-Officers in accordance with Order 66 this act which then resulted in the death of Ki-Adi-Mundi along with many of Jedi.

Early Life

Born several decades before the start of Clone Wars, Cerean male Ki-Adi-Mundi was found to be Force-Sensitive at some point in Mundi's-childhood by the Jedi-Order and then trained in the ways of their order. After this Jedi Mundi completed the training after years of learning from Jedi, he was given a rank of a Jedi Knight and had returned to his home-world Cerea to liberate his home from an gang of raiders, after which he was assigned an watchman of Cerean-sector. Like many Cereans in his generation, he favored their planet's isolation, speaking out against off-planet-Tech. Mundi was held in high regard by the members in the High Council on which he was eventually offered the permanent seat on this ruling-Council of their Jedi.

Jedi of the Order

Reemergence of the Sith

By the time of the Naboo Crisis, Ki-Adi-Mundi had achieved the rank of Jedi Master. Qui-Gon Jinn approached the Jedi Council, describing the Lightsaber duel he had at Tatooine with a Zabrak. Jinn believed the warrior to be a Sith, a claim that their Council, and the Master Ki-Adi-Mundi in particular met with skepticism. Jinn also brought Anakin Skywalker in front of the Jedi Council, the boy had an high Midi-Chlorian count and had an good grasp on the Force, but the Council denied his and Jinn's wishes to train him as an Jedi, believing him to be too old, and had much fear in him. After a duel on Naboo which cost the life of Jinn at the hands of the warrior Darth Maul, the Council reversed their decision to allow the young Anakin Skywalker to be trained but Master-Mundi secretly harbored feelings of discomfort about the youthful boy and intended to be more watchful of him than other Padawans. He'd traveled to Naboo to attend Qui-Gon's funeral and was also present the next day for a celebration of Naboo's liberation from the Trade Federation. Upon realizing the Sith had indeed reemerged, Master Mundi and the other members in the Order began feeling great Force disturbances.

Conflicts of the Clone Wars

As the Confederacy of Independent Systems movement threatened the stability of the Republic, Mundi was among the Strike-Team of Jedi Knights dispatched to Geonosis ten years following the Naboo Crisis to confront a Separatist Droid Army and free Obi-Wan KenobiAnakin Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala, who were held captive by Seperatists led by a fallen Jedi Dooku, who Mundi previously thought was incapable of violence or murder. The Jedi fought against the separatist-army forces in what was to become a very bloody battle which resulted in the majority of Jedi being slain and leaving only a handful of Jedi, but before the Droids could kill them, several Low Altitude Assault Transports led by Jedi Master Yoda arrived and rounded up the surviving Jedi taking them to safety. Master Mundi continued to fight until the Confederacy ordered a full retreat. Mundi was one of the few Jedi to survive this Battle of Geonosis, which formally marked the beginning of the Clone Wars. When this conflict began, Jedi-Master Mundi was made an Jedi General who held command of the Galactic Marines of this Grand Army and during the war he'd participated in several major battles.

After the Geonosian natives resisted Republic control and the Separatists then re-occupied Geonosis, Republic Forces were tasked to return to Geonosis and retake that planet. Alongside Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Knight Anakin Skywalker and Skywalker's Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, Ki-Adi Mundi deployed his troops to land on the planet surface. However, the Jedi's-gunship was shot down and Mundi, his men, and their tanks had to move on foot, and after a small skirmish with the enemy, their Forces broke through which allowed them to join the other Clone-Troopers at the primary staging area where the other Forces would converge. Alongside other Jedi, Master Mundi led the assault against several Separatist droid foundries on Geonosis. Following the assault Mundi had earned the "everlasting respect" of Anakin Skywalker as Mundi killed a total of sixty-five droids and Geonosians during their assault. After healing from the battle injuries, Mundi aided the efforts of capturing Poggle the Lesser, and after an encounter with a Geonosian Queen Karina the Great, the Jedi Skywalker, Obi-Wan and Unduli succeeded in capturing Poggle and later their Jedi took this prisoner to Coruscant.

Ki-Adi-Mundi remained busy with Jedi High Council business throughout this war, as this Jedi Master took part in many Jedi affairs and conflicts of the clone-wars. When Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore sent a distress signal to the Jedi alerting them of a crisis on Mandalore and calling for the Order's help, the Jedi Master Mundi argued that this neutrality on Mandalore and this lack of involvement of the Confederacy had prevented them from intervening. Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi later during the war was present during an Trial of a Padawan Tano where he chose, along with the majority of the Jedi Council, to expel Tano from this Jedi Order so that she could receive a trial at an republic-military-court. After Tano was proven innocent and the actual culprit of the Jedi Temple bombing was revealed, Mundi and the other members of Jedi High-Council personally invited Tano to return to their Order, but she'd instead chose to leave, as she felt she could not trust this council anymore. Mundi was present at an Council meeting when Jedi Master Yoda claimed that he heard the disembodied voice of Master Jinn, and Mundi argued that it was possibly a Sith-deception aimed at destroying the Jedi.

Execution of the Jedi Order

As the Clone Wars conflict approached its end Mundi suggested to the Council that the Chancellor Palpatine may have become too powerful and this Jedi Order might need to assume control of the old Galactic Republic for a interim period until an transition of power could commence. Near the end of this Clone Wars and during the Outer Rim-Sieges, Mundi was leading the Galactic-Marines in a charge across an bridge at Mygeeto when Chancellor Palpatine had enacted the Order 66 contingency order that called for the termination of all the Jedi, and the clone commander Bacara ordered the other marines to open fire. Realizing too late he had been betrayed by the Clone Troopers under his command, Master Ki-Adi-Mundi raised his Lightsaber, and deflected a handful of the shots sending them hurling back toward these Clone Troopers. However, one of the blasts had struck Master Mundi in his stomach, which rendered Jedi Mundi incapable of defending himself from a subsequent barrage of shots. Dropping his Lightsaber Mundi was riddled with Blaster fire and fell to the ground, dead. Mundi's death was part in the Jedi Purge event that'd resulted in the near extinction of the Jedi.

Powers and Abilities

The Force: Master Ki-Adi-Mundi was also skilled in the usage of several Force abilities. During a duel Mundi displayed an ability to produce powerful telekinetic-blasts capable of creating an crater in the ground. The Cerean Jedi could also leap incredible-heights, such as when he once launched himself onto an moving gunship during an Battle. He was also able to use Force-Healing to some degree, as proven when he'd healed a broken-collar-bone after a skiff he was riding on crashed during a mission. Like other Jedi, Mundi had combined his connection to the Force with his Pilot-skills to be able to perform daring maneuvers, making him a competent pilot. Mundi survived starfighter dogfighting against pirates.

Lightsaber Skills: By the time of their Clone Wars Jedi Master Mundi was considered by many to be one of their finest swordsmen in the Jedi Order. Ki-Adi-Mundi was a lightsaber expert, possessing at least some skill with Makashi. Mundi was a powerful-practitioner of Form 4, Ataru and then mastered Form 3, Soresu and was highly-proficient with it. Mundi also displayed extremely fast reflexes that allowed him to react in time to defend himself for a short time period after his Clone Troopers had attacked him after the chancellor Palpatine had enacted the protocol of Order 66. While Mundi was ultimately killed in the encounter, this Jedi was able to deflect multiple-shots and kill two Troopers before they killed him.

Ki-Adi-Mundi's Lightsaber: This Lightsaber wielded by the Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi was created and wielded by this Cerean Jedi himself. While a Jedi Master during the Clone War, and until his ultimate demise on Mygeeto, Cerean Jedi Master Mundi's Blade was blue. Master Ki-Adi-Mundi was known to use an one handed style during combat which was Makashi. During one of the first encounters with Grievous, Mundi confronted this Cyborg while using the Ataru opening stance, and notably he was the final Jedi standing during his grueling duel with Grievous despite being exhausted from battle. Mundi would continue to wield his blade for the rest of his life until Order-66 had begun and resulted in his death.
