Exar Kun was a Human male who was once an apprentice the Jedi Order, who in his days as a student was shown to be quick tempered with a great deal of rage inside of him. Kun in addition to his rage, was filled with a burning curiosity of the Sith, and soon went on his own to find out as much as he could of the dark order. His search led him to the planet Onderon, where he found the followers of the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd, who had information of the late Sith's resting place on the moon Dxun. Within the tomb of Freedon Nadd, Exar Kun would discover a Sith holocron that once belonged to the Sith Lord himself. Through the holocron, Exar began to learn forbidden knowledge of the history of the Sith, even regarding the Sith home of Moraband where Exar Kun would accept the dark side into his heart.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Exar Kun in his youth was a very rash but talented Jedi, but his qualities resulted in arrogance, not a quality that is warmly welcomed by Jedi Order. Whilst in training, Exar frequently had sparring battles with his fellow Padawans. Although they were meant to be friendly matches, the rage and anger in Exar's eyes could be purely seen. The temptation of great potential power was overwhelming to the young one as he looked upon his master's holocron. Exar's Jedi master was worried, for knowledge of the dark side could be dangerous to such a mind as Exar Kun's, who'd already shown a level of rage common among the Sith.

Soon it became clear that the arrogance and stubbornness of his pride was starting to consume him; Kun shorty afterward convinced himself that he had enough power to learn the techniques and ways of the dark side whilst still on the light. Exar's master did all he could to keep his student from being corrupted by the dark side but Exar ignored his master's instructions to heed his lessons and ignore the temptation of the dark side, and soon afterwards Exar abandoned his master, declaring himself a Jedi knight.

Surrender to Darkness[]

Kun's mind was determined to having the power to withstand the dark side of the Force as a means of making him more powerful than any Jedi. His journey of learning the ways of the dark side took him to the planet Onderon. Exar had heard rumors of an ancient Sith presence on the planet, and after talking to the native people, Exar Kun heard of a tomb containing the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd, who had been overthrown by his subjects and buried by his loyalists on the remote moon, Dxun. Exar then ventured to Dxun to uncover the remains of Freedon Nadd, with the hopes that the Sith may have left behind secrets of the dark side.

What he found was within a locked room inside Nadd's tomb, an ancient Sith holocron created by Nadd himself. The holcoron began to speak to Exar, persuading the young Kun to carry on the goals and desires of Freedon Nadd, leading him to Moraband the ancient home of the Sith. On Moraband, Kun traveled deep underground, directed by the holocron until there was a cave in resulting in Exar being buried alive. The holocron told Exar that his only means of escape would be to fully embrace the dark side, the ambitious Jedi Knight fueled himself with the power that he had been wanting to come out for years. Exar Kun entered the cave a high and mighty Jedi Knight and left as a fallen one.

After fully embracing the dark side of the Force, Exar Kun ventured to Yavin 4, where Exar Kun searched for the secrets of another Sith Lord, Naga Sadow. Within the hidden records of Naga Sadow, Exar Kun learned secrets of how to hold power over the Massasi, the slaves of the Sith. Peering into the ancient relics of the Sith, Exar Kun had a Force vision of himself as a great and powerful Dark Lord of the Sith, and so sought to claim the title for himself. Empowered by the vision, Exar Kun sought to establish his rule by finding others drawn to the dark side and make them serve him.

Gathering Followers[]

After leaving Yavin 4, Exar Kun began tracking Sith cults that could prove either helpful or harmful to his cause, judging whether they were worthy to follow him. On Empress Teta, Kun would encounter a young Jedi named Ulic Qel-Droma, who had lost his Master to a Sith cult attack and resulting in Ulic being seduced by the dark side of the Force. The two would duel one another in Lightsaber combat, until it was decided that with Exar Kun as the superior master of the dark side, that he would be the master of Ulic Qel-Droma, and together they would bring forth a new age of the Sith.

Allied with the remnants of the Sith cults Exar Kun had conquered and the Mandalorian warrior clans, Kun and Qel-Droma traveled to Ossus where they would attack the great library controlled by the Jedi Order. During the attack, kun stole a highly unique Sith holocron called the dark holocron once having belonged to Naga Sadow. With this holocron, Exar Kun would use its influence to corrupt many Jedi Knights to his cause, forming the foundations of a Sith-inspired galactic empire. He then ordered his converts to strike down their masters in an attempt to destabilize the Jedi Order's leadership.

Kun himself would confront his own former master on Coruscant, where he dueled his master and unleashed an unseen form of Lightsaber on him, the double-bladed Lightsaber, with which Kun would slay his master. After murdering his former mentor, Kun would continue his campaign of galactic terror with his apprentice Qel-Droma, who had been captured by the enemy after launching an ill-advised attack. While on Coruscant, Kun burst into the Senate Hall in the middle of Qel-Droma's trial for war crimes, murdering the Supreme Chancellor and setting Qel-Droma free.

Fall of Exar Kun's Reign[]

Exar Kun would as a result of Qel-Droma's capture, send those of his followers responsible to their deaths, manipulating them into causing a massive supernova in the Cron Cluster that was sure to ravage the planet Ossus. But ahead of the Jedi Order's evacuation of Ossus, Kun and Qel-Droma descended onto the planet, and pillaged as much of the ancient lore of the Jedi as possible. Exar Kun then retreated back to the temples on the moon of Yavin 4, but was unaware that Ulic Qel-Droma had betrayed him to the Jedi, and had also led them to Yavin to stage a final offensive against him.

In the ensuing battle, Kun refused to go quietly, using an ancient Sith technique that he did not understand, Kun separated his essence from his own body by sacrificing multiple Massasi, and placing it in the bodies of one of his servants in an attempt to elude capture. However, before the ritual could be fully complete, the Jedi with thousands of Knights destroyed all of Exar Kun's forces, and killed both bodies before Exar Kun's spirit could be transferred, resulting in the essence of Kun's spirit being destroyed by another of his former masters students, and his reign ultimately ending.

Powers and Abilities[]

The Force: Exar Kun was considered by his superiors to be the most formidable student ever trained, and his power in the Force only grew once he accepted the dark side into his heart. Once the choice was made, Kun no longer relied on the light side of the Force, and opened up to the dark side which offered new possibilities and new abilities to master. From ancient holocrons of the Sith, Exar Kun learned how to unleash enormous amounts of destructive dark side energy, even more so once he discovered Naga Sadow's secrets, allowing him to research Sith alchemy to which he would quickly master.

As he delved deeper into Sith magic, Kun discovered pathways that he did not truly understand, but that he used anyway to free himself from his body, a process which required tethering himself to a physical form and the sacrifice of countless Massassi. Once this process was complete, Exar Kun's spirit could live on in others allowing him to posses his targets and dwell within them for centuries, however should Kun's spirit be left without a host it would fade away. Kun would also develop strong mental Force powers, notably using his powers to mesmerize the entire Galactic Senate and dominate the mind of the Supreme Chancellor.
