|Position||Dark Lord of the (Sith Order)|
|Age||Over 100 Years Old|
Darth Plagueis, remembered as Plagueis the Wise, was a male Muun Dark Lord of the Sith and heir to the lineage of Darth Bane. Trained in the arts of the Dark Side of the Force, Plagueis mastered the science and art of Midi-Chlorian manipulation. Obsessed with gaining eternal life, he experimented with ways to cheat death and create new life from the Midi-Chlorians. In the eyes of the public he was just Hego Damask II of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, Darth Plagueis backed the rise and fall of certain star systems, businesses, and crime lords, earning him many enemies and putting the Galactic Republic into turmoil. One of Plagueis' greatest contributions to the history of the galaxy was instructing a young Darth Sidious in the ways of the Sith and the the Dark Side of the Force, whom he incited to take control of the galaxy and bring about a new age of the Sith.
For decades, he had helped Sidious, known publicly as Sheev Palpatine from Naboo, rise to the position of Senator and played a hand in his apprentice's election as the Chancellor of the Republic thirty years before the Battle of Yavin. Together, they instigated the, the Invasion of Naboo, and the war that would destroy the Jedi Order and the Republic in years to come. His plans involved himself to be to be appointed as Co-Chancellor of the Republic so that he might advise his apprentice from the dark and devote himself to his own research. But Sheev had other plans. Sidious, convinced that his master had outlived his usefulness, eventually killed the Muun in his sleep the night before the election. Sidious later recounted the story of his master as a Sith legend, to sway Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker to the Dark Side of the Force.

Lightsaber Skills: Plagueis was also skilled in Lightsaber combat, although he disdained using his blade in combat, regarding Lightsaber duels as tedious affairs; his master viewed his apprentice as a master of the art. He was able to run so fast during his duel with a rival that an onlooker would have thought him a thunderbolt racing through the trees. Plagueis had on one occasion utilized Jar'Kai on Bal'demnic.
Darth Plagueis born Hego Damask II, was a Dark Lord of the Sith and the master of Darth Sidious. He acquired great knowledge in the field of Midi-Chlorian manipulation, but was betrayed and murdered by his own apprentice, in accordance with the "Rule of Two." Sidious later recounted the tale of his master's demise to lure Anakin Skywalker to the dark side.
Seeking an Apprentice
Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith who, at some point, chose Sheev Palpatine, a human from Naboo, as his apprentice. As master and disciple, Plagueis and his newly rechristened apprentice Darth Sidious, worked together, trying to unlock the secrets of immortality and to execute their order's long-percolating plan of supplanting the Galactic Republic with a new Sith Empire.
Killed by Sidious
According to Sidious, Plagueis was powerful enough that he could use the Force to influence the Midi-Chlorians to create life and keep those he cared about from dying, a precious knowledge that awarded him the epithet of "The Wise." Plagueis, however, also developed a belief that the Force could "strike back" at him for his power. In truth, he became so powerful that the only thing he still dreaded was losing his power. Ultimately, Plagueis' only fear was bound to come true. At some point Sidious had learned everything he needed from his master. Moreover, he had acquired his own pupil in the Nightsister Mother Talzin's son, Darth Maul, a young Dathomirian Zabrak whom Sidious had kidnapped from Talzin when he was only a child. As the Rule of Two mandated that only two Sith—a master and an apprentice—could exist at any given time, one of them had to die. Now that he had no further use for a teacher, Sidious disposed of Plagueis, killing him in his sleep. With the death of Plagueis, Sidious not only gained the status of Master, but also acquired 11-4D, the late Sith Lord's multi-limbed protocol droid assistant. Later, after taking Darth Vader as his apprentice, he reformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire and declared himself Emperor. In the years that followed his rise to Emperor, Sidious came to genuinely, if posthumously, appreciate Plagueis for the planner and prophet he had been. Sometimes, he mused about how his late master would have reacted when confronted with the trivial, day-to-day matters of Imperial politics.
Powers and Abilities
- The Force: Plagueis was a master of esoteric and unnatural aspects of the Force. With it, he was able to manipulate the essence of life, a power Palpatine believed was directly tied to his inward sight. Plagueis could save others from death and, when his power was applied to the extreme, create new life from the midi-chlorians found in all lifeforms. Plagueis even discovered the ability to retain one's identity in the Force while becoming one with it, but this manner of surviving death did not appeal to him, as he was not concerned with the non-material world. He also had some familiarity with the concept of transfer essence, a technique his master also was interested in, but chose not to investigate it, as he desired to become immortal while retaining the use of his body of birth.Skilled in the more unorthodox applications of the Force, he was skilled in conjuring Force illusions, convincing enough to fool even Sidious. Plagueis was a very capable combatant, absorbing blaster bolts and then channeling it into Force lightning, an ability that he was also very skilled in. Plagueis originally had the ability to see into the future but this ability was permanently crippled after his dead Master used transfer essence to enter his body and foresaw his death at the hands of his own apprentice. However, that power seemed to reappear a day after Tenebrous' murder Later, days before his own death, he glimpsed events surrounding Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker, respectively. Plagueis was also believed to have perfected Sith alchemy.
- Lightsaber Skills: Plagueis was also skilled in lightsaber combat, although he disdained using his blade in combat, regarding lightsaber duels as tedious affairs; Tenebrous viewed his apprentice as a master of the art. He was able to run so fast during his duel with Venamis that an onlooker would have thought him a thunderbolt racing through the trees.
